Hike and cruise

Here is a tour that we wanted unusual: in this area where winter climate is temperate, we combined the pedestrian hiking and cruising in a comfortably arranged gullet with a sympathetic crew.

As Turkey has been called “the cradle of civilisation”, on this coast with a rich history, added to the amazing spectacle of a sea with limpid water striking the abrupt cliffs, you will discover the archaeological richness dating back to 8th century BC of Greek and Roman cities which are admirably preserved, with a Lycian necropolis lost in the vegetation. Turkey has been a sailing paradise ever since man started to navigate. It offers a multitude of idyllic cruising opportunities in still unspoilt surroundings, particularly on the Aegean coastlines - a wonderful area with rocky peninsulas, thousands of bays, sandy coves and numerous historical remains.

Through this tour, you will have an excellent approach of an area rich in archaeological sites and still non-affected by new civilisation.  In the daytime we follow the trails traced by shepherds on the mountain flanks with fascinating sea-sights On the way we take opportunity to discover archaeological sites dispersed in a luxurious vegetation, with the privilege of visiting those which are accessible only on foot. At the end of the afternoon we join our gullet to end the day with a sea-trip. Each evening choose a different bay for the anchorage.

Cruising and hiking on the Turkish coastline also allows you to experience a truly enriching cultural exchange with the hospitable and gracious people of typical coastal villages we cross as well as with the shepherds who live with their families in isolate farms, far away from civilisation.

Day 1: Dalaman - Fethiye (or Göcek)

Meet at Dalaman airport with our Anatolia Cultura Travel and transfer to Fethiye harbour.
Check-in our comfortable gullet. Overnight on board.

Day 2: Fethiye -  Merdivenli

Visit of Fethiye in the morning. Then sail to Merdivenli bay.  We have time for a swim before lunch. A short walk (2 h) will be proposed in the afternoon. Overnight on borad.

Day 3: Merdivenli -  Agalimani -  Lydae -  Gokgemili -  Hamam - Sarsali

After breakfast a short sail will take us to Agalimani. Walk up to Ikaros old ruins. Visit of the tombs. We hike through the pine forest to Gokgemili bay where we take opportunity to swim. Walk to Hamam and join the gullet at Sarsali bay.
Walk: 5 hours.

Day 4: Kocagol lake

Walk up to Kocagol lake. Possibility en-route to meet some local people. Overnight on board
Walk 4/5h

Day 5: Ekincik -  Caunus -  Semizce

Early in the morning we sail to Ekincik. Walk through pine forest and sea sight  to Caunus ruins. Visit of theatre, temple, church, roman bath… The acropolis offers a spectacular view and is well worth to ascend. From Dalyan we come back to Ekincik with a rental boat. Then sail to Semizce.
Walk: 5h.
NB: depending on the weather and the captain decision, this morning we can go/return to Dalyan by bus

Day 6: Semizce -  Oludeniz -  Kayakoy -  Gemili

Early sail to Oludeniz, the trailhead point of the trek to Kayakoy. This is an old village left by Greek orthodox in 1923.
Descent back to Saguk su bay to join our gullet. Sail to Gemili island where St Nicholas was a bishop.
Overnight on borad. Walk 5 hours.

Day 7: Gemili -  Fethiye

This will be a sea-enjoying day. After breakfast we visit the island where Saint Nicholas was a bishop.
In the afternoon we join Fethiye where you will have free time for your souvenir shopping.
Overnight on borad.

Day 8: Fetiye or Göcek -  Return

Transfer to Dalaman airport for the return flight.

Note: The itinerary may be reversed.

Groupe size: Possibility to organize according to your needs. Each boat can receive until 12 persons with 6 double/Twin cabins.
